Spring Fun From Down Under

We know this is kind of a last minute event announcement but, sometime, when opportunities arise, you must just seize them! Were you at the Quilt Expo in Denver this March? Did you happen to see the booth with the Sashers? Were you amazed and delighted? Well, we were and after a brief visit with Pauline we came together to squeeze in a two day event at Sew-ciety! Please be sure to check dates and times! We have to get Pauline back to DIA!

About Pauline:

The Amazing Sasher

With over 25 years of experience, Pauline’s expertise covers a full range of techniques from appliqué and hand work, to machine piecing and quilting. Pauline says that her greatest achievements have come in the last few years since she invented the SASHING TOOLS and her QUILT AS YOU GO BOOK.

The idea for these unique tools come about from the challenges she herself and other quilters were having, this being, trying to fit the bulk of a big quilt under the needle to do nice Free Motion Quilting. We all know the challenges of getting even stitches and nice shapes when there is so much bulk bunched up through a space on a Domestic machine.

Meet Pauline’s book, Quilt As You Go Techniques and SASHER Collection. They have been greatly received by quilters worldwide to allow them to make easy yet very effective Sashings when they use Paulines Quilt As You Go Techniques. Pauline’s statement to quilters these days is “ Who said we should quilt last “ .

Quilt As You Go Workshop

Monday, May 6, 1:30-5:30 continues
Tuesday, May 7, 9:30-12:30pm
Cost $50

In the one-day class you will be taught different styles of quilt as you go, all very exciting and with a little challenge. Unlike most quilt as you go methods, you won’t even have to do any hand stitching.

When you have finished the class you will be able to apply the techniques to any quilt you make that includes sashings – it is so easy to quilt each of the blocks and border separately then put the whole quilt together after all the quilting is done.

For some quilts you can quilt the backgrounds first then apply your appliques and join the quilt together. This is a technique class – not a project class, as this is designed to be a learning tool so you can refer back to your samples when you’re making future quilts.

Sign up for both classes for $60! Lunch is included on Monday if you are attending both events. Supply list will be posted soon. Call 720-733-8102, seating limited in Hands on Workshop.
