Make a cover for your EPIC
The project for this techniques class is to design and construct a fabric cover for a 3 ring binder using the embroidery and sewing techniques in the EPIC sewing/embroidery machine.

EPIC sewing machine with embroidery unit
Feet and accessories that came with machine
360 x 260 hoop
Yarn Couching Foot
Open Toe Foot
3 Hole Yarn Foot (optional)
7 Hole Yarn Foot (optional)
NOTE: All measurements, etc., are based on a 3 ring notebook with rings no larger than 2”
Fabrics –
NOTE: Suggest that fabric used read as a solid; batiks are recommended
¾ yard fabric
Stabilizer, Interfacing, etc. –
Fusible Fleece – approx 27” x 14”
Non-fusible sheer mesh stabilizer to fit hoop – enough for 3 hoopings
Fusible Interfacing such as Decor Bond or Craft Fuse 12” x 24”
Threads, Yarns, etc. –
Embroidery Threads that coordinate/contrast with the fabrics
Embroidery bobbin thread
Sewing thread such as Aurifil for construction
Yarns, ribbons, other fibers & fabrics for embellishing
Sequins for embellishing
Etc –
3 ring binder with rings 1”, 1 ½”, or 2”
Rotary cutter
Fabric scissors
Thread scissors
Ruler for use with rotary cutter
Frixion pen(s) that will show up on fabrics
Straight pins
Fray Block
Machinger gloves (optional) useful when doing embellishments
Sample book of Dimensional stitches – if you have one
