Sew-Ciety, 1025 S Perry St #101B, Castle Rock, CO 80104
The project for this class is a carrier for quilt blocks up to 13" x 13" in size. The carrier is constructed of Pet Screen and fabric strips. There is a removable mini design board inside the carrier that is covered in flannel.
Supplies:
Sewing Machine capable of stitching a wide satin stitch
"A" (Viking) or "0A"(Pfaff) foot
½" bias binder foot or adjustable bias binder foot
Circular attachment if you have one
Pet Screen: 1 piece 36" wide by 36" long. This will be cut into the following pieces-
1 piece 15" x 15"
2 pieces 15" x 9"
2 pieces 14" x 5 ½"
1 piece 13 ½" x 9"
1 piece 9" x ½"
Flannel: ½ yard
Fabric for Bias Binding: ½ yard. You can prepare this ahead of class by cutting 2" strips on the bias and joining them until you have a length of at least 215". After they have been joined (like binding for a quilt – on a 45 degree angle with ¼" seam allowance pressed open), fold the strip in half lengthwise and press. Open out the strip and fold each edge in to meet the lengthwise crease and press again. Then refold on the first lengthwise crease to make double fold binding ½" wide and press a final time. Bring scraps of the fabric to class also.
