Bring your Creative Sensation or Diamond and learn a new technique each month.
This is the Pfaff and Viking Diamond Technique class for July, 2016. The project is a small zippered bag embroidered with components that have been created on the Pfaff Creative Sensation. The various components will be provided to students in the class and can be used on any embroidery machine not just the Pfaff Creative Sensation.
Supplies:
Sewing Machine with Embroidery Unit
Hoop for embroidery that is at least 360mm x 200mm or larger
Embroidery foot and single hole needle plate
Zig Zag needle plate
Open toe foot or Clear Open Toe foot
Zipper Foot
3 Different Cotton Fabrics (See below for cutting instructions)
Cotton Batting – one piece 22” x 14”
High Loft Batting (or more of the cotton batting) – 6” x 6”
1 – 12” zipper to coordinate with fabrics
2 – spools of different colors of embroidery thread to coordinate/contrast with fabrics
Bobbin wound with main embroidery thread color
Straight Pins
Standard Sewing and Embroidery Supplies as listed on the Sew-Ciety website
Fabric Cutting Instructions:
Fabric 1: 1 – 22” x 14” for Lining
1 – 16” x 5 ½” for Center Front Panel
Fabric 2: 2 – 16” x 4” for Side Panels
Fabric 3: 2 – 10” x 1 3/8” for Binding. These can be cut on straight of grain or on the bias. They will be sewn onto a curved edge so you may want to cut them on the bias.
